If your idea of a good trip is built around what you eat, Hyderabad is an easy win – especially if you only have a day to spare.

Morning: South Indian breakfast

Start with idlis, dosas, or pesarattu at a popular breakfast joint. Strong filter coffee mandatory.

Afternoon: Biryani time

Pick one well-known biryani place, go slightly off-peak if you can, and treat it as the main event. No need to taste-test five places in one trip.

Evening & night: Old city walk

  • Head towards Charminar area.
  • Snack on kebabs, biscuits, and chai from trusted spots.
  • Keep an eye on your belongings and stick to busy, lit streets.
Spice control: Don’t be shy to ask for “less spicy” if you’re not used to heat – most places will adjust a bit.

In 24 hours you won’t see all of Hyderabad, but you can absolutely build one memorable food story start to finish.
